Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has decided to deploy a comprehensive group from the General Staff to inspect the 156th brigade. This was reported by the General Staff.

The group is led by Colonel Oleg Apostol. The purpose of the work is to check the formation process of the brigade and provide assistance in preparing for combat operations.

The personnel formation of the brigade has been completed, and it has begun basic general military training under a new program. The selection of personnel for specialized training and the supply of necessary weapons and equipment is ongoing.

During the inspection, shortcomings were identified. In order to address them, the commander of the Ground Forces has been instructed to:

• replace the command staff of the brigade and appoint a commander with combat experience;
• transfer officers and sergeants with combat experience to the unit;
• improve the quality of practical training taking into account combat experience;
• increase the intensity and quality of training for drone pilots and electronic warfare operators, as well as resolve other issues.

The leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is responding quickly to the problems of military units and providing comprehensive assistance to enhance their combat readiness and the motivation of military personnel, it is emphasized by the General Staff.

The staffing of the new 156th mechanized brigade is ongoing, as reported by journalist Yuriy Butusov. The command of the operational command 'West' is being formed.

However, Yuriy Butusov noted that the methods of staffing and training the brigade are as inadequate as in the case of the 155th brigade.

The 155th mechanized brigade is one of the most modern Ukrainian brigades. It arrived in Ukraine after three months of training in Poland and France. According to Forbes analyst David Ax, this brigade is the best and most heavily armed among the new brigades recently formed in Ukraine. However, it lacks important equipment for full participation in combat operations - drones.

Later, it became known that several dozen Ukrainian soldiers training in France had deserted.
