The smog in Kyiv will decrease in the coming days if no new fires occur. This was reported by the representative of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Natalia Ptukha at a briefing. The smoke from the fires in the northern regions will not move towards the capital.
However, soon an air mass with a dry period will begin to arrive in Kyiv from the south and southeast. Therefore, the air will still not be completely clean. However, the atmospheric haze will not have such negative consequences for people as before.
We remind you that the cause of the smog in Kyiv is not an open fire, but smoldering peatlands in the Vyshhorod district.
