Greece to supply gas to Ukraine from winter 2026: details of the agreement.
According to inkorr.com: Greece has announced a new agreement for gas supply to Ukraine. This agreement covers the winter period from December 2025 to March 2026, as reported by the company Depa.
Depa Trading, together with Naftogaz of Ukraine, has signed a Declaration of Intent for the supply of natural gas to the Ukrainian market during the winter period. Greek representatives emphasized that this is an important step towards strengthening regional cooperation and enhancing Europe's energy security.
As part of the agreement, it is planned to supply liquefied natural gas from the USA through 'Route 1', which includes the operators of gas transportation systems of Greece (DESFA), Bulgaria (Bulgartransgaz), Romania (Transgaz), Moldova (VestMoldTransgaz), and Ukraine (OGTSO).
'According to the upcoming agreement, the transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States through 'Route 1', which is jointly provided by the gas transportation system operators (GTS) of Greece (DESFA), Bulgaria (Bulgartransgaz), Romania (Transgaz), Moldova (VestMoldTransgaz), and Ukraine (OGTSO) is anticipated.'
Visit of the President of Ukraine to Greece
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has started his trip to Greece, where a new gas supply agreement has been announced. This will allow the expansion of energy import routes and enhance the country's energy security during the winter period.
As part of his European tour, Volodymyr Zelensky will also visit France and Spain. In France, an agreement to strengthen Ukraine's combat aviation is planned to be signed, and during his visit to Spain, negotiations will be held regarding support for Ukraine amid the conflict.
