Famous activist Greta Thunberg shared her impressions from five days spent in custody in Israel. The 22-year-old climate change advocate recounted her difficult experiences, claiming that she suffered beatings, humiliation, and threats. According to her, the guards mocked her, ruined her belongings, and even stepped on her favorite frog-shaped hat.“These days were a real ordeal, during which I experienced humiliation and violence,” she noted.Thunberg became one of 437 individuals detained after attempts to head to Gaza on the 'Freedom Flotilla'. Many of these people shared similar stories of mistreatment by the authorities.Thunberg's detention drew attention to issues related to human rights and freedom of speech during protests. This situation once again highlighted the importance of the international community in protecting the rights of activists fighting for social and environmental change.
