Ukrainian Officials Grigory and Yulia Didenko Face Trial Over Millions in Undeclared Assets.
Charges Against Grigory and Yulia Didenko
According to Novyny.live: Grigory Didenko, the head of the Odesa Regional Council, and his wife, Yulia Didenko, a member of Ukraine's parliament, are facing criminal charges for allegedly failing to declare assets worth over 8 million hryvnias. The case has been sent to court, where they will be tried under Article 366-2, Part 2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code. This statute specifically addresses the submission of false information in official asset declarations, a key tool in the country's anti-corruption framework.
The couple initially received formal suspicion notices in October 2025, and the case materials were made public for review in December of that year. According to the investigation, assets valued at nearly 5 million hryvnias, which are central to the case in the High Anti-Corruption Court, are under scrutiny.
Focus of the Investigation
The investigation has identified two luxury vehicles—Audi SQ8 models from 2021 and 2024—among the assets in question. If found guilty, the Didenkos could face imprisonment for up to two years. The court proceedings will determine the final outcome for the accused.
This prosecution is part of Ukraine's ongoing, high-stakes campaign against corruption, which remains a critical issue for both domestic governance and international relations. Cases involving senior officials are closely watched as indicators of judicial independence and reform progress. As the trial continues, the situation surrounding the Didenkos remains under intense scrutiny from media and anti-corruption watchdogs.
