According to ТСН: The situation in the Huliaipole direction has sharply escalated. In addition to pressure from the enemy, the defense of the city is undermined by internal problems in the 102nd separate territorial defense brigade.

Defense Problems

“In the photo, our fighters from the 102nd TDF brigade were initially mistaken for enemy assault troops, and artillery was directed at them, but thanks to timely verification, friendly fire was avoided,” specialists reported.

Efforts of Elite Units

According to information from DeepState, elite units are currently trying to hold the front line, including the 1st SHP under the command of Filatov, the 225th SHP led by Shyriaiev, the 33rd SHP (Borzyi group), as well as BG 154th OMBR and the 25th Border Guard detachment.

However, experts note that the efforts of these units will be meaningless if the main brigade responsible for the direction cannot maintain the defense.

Internal Problems of the Brigade

“As it became known, there is a group of officers in the 102nd TDF who support the SPP. At the same time, there is no clear information in the brigade about the situation in neighboring battalions, believing that their neighbors remain in position, while they are already outside the region,” DeepState reported.

Specialists emphasize that the situation is complicated by the fact that certain individuals in the brigade are sending Russian fakes to activists and volunteers, with the aim of sowing panic and justifying retreat from positions.

“Company commanders from the 102nd TDF are trying to keep their personnel, but it is known that there are also wounded commanders in the positions,” analysts concluded.

Situation at the Front

Recall that after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, the bottom of the former reservoir quickly overgrew with reeds and shrubs, creating conditions for the covert movement of troops. Since the summer of 2025, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have recorded attempts by Russian units to use these thickets to advance towards Zaporizhzhia, particularly near Prymorske and Kamianske. According to military data, detected enemy groups were destroyed, and the area itself is actively monitored by drones and mined.

At the same time, experts note that the drained bottom of the reservoir is not the main route for the offensive of the Russian Federation, although fighting in the “gray zone” continues.

The situation on the Huliaipole front is critical, as losses on the ground and internal conflicts can significantly complicate the defense. It is important to recognize all existing problems and take the necessary measures to address them in order to avoid unnecessary casualties among the fighters and stabilize the situation.
