Gordon Kessee, 44 years old, allegedly was killed using a chainsaw in Bega, Australia It is believed the attack occurred in the park on Monday night

The second man injured during the incident was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Local residents reported waking up to the sounds of screams and the horrendous noise of a chainsaw around 2 AM on Monday.

One resident told local media: “My buddy called me and said someone is being attacked with a chainsaw nearby.”

Mr. Kessee's longtime partner, Amanda Manton, noted she was nearby when police arrived on the scene.

She described how a stranger approached her and delivered the terrible news.

“Hello, sister, your man is there with a chainsaw,” the woman told her while more and more people gathered around.

Manton rushed to the park, believing Gordon might be injured but not dead.

She told The Daily Telegraph: “I went (to the scene), because there were police everywhere, thinking he (Gordon) was taken to the hospital or something like that... and one of the officers said: ‘He is dead, he was found dead in the park.’”

Hours later, Manton posted a heart-wrenching message online, saying: “I loved you with all my heart. Eleven years together.”

She also made a decisive statement regarding those she considers responsible.

“Don’t worry, your death will not be forgotten, and I know that whoever loved you like I did will make sure those dogs do not breathe soon,” she said.

Police noted the disturbing fact that a chainsaw was used to threaten during the fight but have yet to confirm whether it caused the fatal injuries to Kessee.

Chief of Police for the Southern Coastal District Shane Jessep told reporters: “I can confirm that a chainsaw was used during this incident.”

Currently, the police do not know if the chainsaw caused any injuries.

Investigators believe that Kessee died from stab wounds resulting from a violent fight related to drugs.

The investigation into Kessee's death is ongoing.

Local residents heard screams and chainsaw noise that same night.

Kessee was known to the police, had drug problems, and had been previously convicted.

However, Manton noted he was making efforts to change his life after they met.

A large-scale investigation has been launched by the state crimes department, involving detectives from the homicide unit.

Detectives have established the crime scene in the park and are gathering information from surveillance cameras, vehicle video, and witness testimonies.

Police were called around 2 AM due to reports of “concern for welfare,” and they found Kessee's body at a “horrific” scene.

Police urge anyone with information, video, or dashcam footage from the area to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
