According to The Sun: This evening, residents in western Turkey were engulfed by panic as a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 forced people to flee their homes into the streets. The earthquake occurred in the Balıkesir region at 22:48 local time, shaking buildings over a large area, including Istanbul and Izmir, the two largest cities in the country.
