Planned for Spring 2026: Closed Airport in Britain Received £30 Million for Opening.
According to The Sun: The closed Doncaster Sheffield Airport in the UK has received financial support of £30 million for its revival. The airport, which closed in 2022, will start welcoming flights again next spring. The project aims to create 5,000 jobs and restore the passenger terminal.
A two mayors have effectively demonstrated how crucial the airport is to the region’s economy.
The Doncaster City Council is working on a long-term agreement with the airport owner and plans to restore the technical equipment. The goal is to resume passenger flights in spring 2026. The project cost consists of several components, including security equipment, airfield works, and readiness of the passenger terminal.
