Free access to the National Trust properties in September

According to The Sun: Throughout September, the National Trust is providing free access to its properties across the country.

In collaboration with Heritage Open Days, this event allows families to save up to £55 on visits to National Trust properties in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Event Schedule

In England, Heritage Open Days will take place from September 12 to 21.

In Wales, it’s called Drysau Agored (Open Doors) and will run throughout September.

In Scotland, open days will happen on weekends throughout the month.

In Northern Ireland, the event will take place on September 13-14 under the name European Heritage Days.

Most properties are free to enter, some may require advance booking, but remain free, so it's worth checking online if you need to reserve.

Notable Sites to Visit

In England, you can visit sites like Bodiam Castle, a 14th-century castle located near Robertsbridge in East Sussex. This castle is famous as a filming location for movies like 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' and 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'.

Another site is Wentworth Castle in South Yorkshire, surrounded by 60 acres of gardens and woodland, and also has a children's play area.
