Sophie Anderson shared that the removal of part of her vagina made her feel less of a woman. More than two years ago, she was terrified to leave home under anesthesia for fourteen hours of surgery. They included the removal of a tumor as well as a section of vagina, rectum, intestine, bladder, and the perineum, where the tumor had passed. She also had pelvic reconstruction, during which some nerves in her left leg were severed due to damage from the perineum.
According to The Sun: After the surgery, Sophia constantly wears a colostomy bag and a urostomy bag, which means her waste passes through an opening in her stomach (stoma) into a bag attached to her body. She also had to undergo a complete hysterectomy (removal of reproductive organs).
Summary
The woman had a complicated surgery to remove the tumor, during which she suffered several serious losses, including part of her vagina and reproductive organs. This story highlights the importance of timely diagnosis and proper treatment of oncological diseases to avoid similar complicated situations.
