A Capsule Hotel Opening in London Offers Rooms for £30.
New Capsule Hotel in London
According to The Sun: A new hotel has opened in the heart of London, claiming to be the largest in the world in its genre, while offering the lowest prices in the capital.
Zedwell is one of the newest hotels to emerge on Piccadilly, near well-known establishments.
iana ianakievaHotels in the center typically offer high prices — nearby are the Ritz and W Hotel, where nightly rates exceed £500. However, Zedwell offers rooms for just £30 a night, making it the most economical option in the city (if you don't mind staying in an 18-bed dormitory).
What’s Inside?
The hotel opened last month and is located right above the Piccadilly subway station. Due to its location beneath the rocks, it's hard to spot when passing by.
The interior design is modern, featuring concrete and wood, with nearly 1000 individual sleeping capsules spread over five floors. Guests can check in themselves using an iPad.
Each bedroom requires a key card, ensuring secure access only to one's own room for each guest.
“I felt like a creature from the Sylvanian Family, closing the door behind me.”
Each capsule is equipped with one bed with a Hypnos mattress, Egyptian cotton sheets, individual air conditioning, soundproofing, and atmospheric lighting.

Sleeping Experience
Used to a double bed, I felt a little restricted closing the capsule door. However, it wasn't as cramped inside as I thought: I could easily sit up and stretch my legs.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sleep: despite there being six women in the group, the hotel was fairly quiet. Only once at 4 AM was I awakened when someone opened the door to the adjoining room.
Security and Amenities
The hotel has 24-hour security and video surveillance systems on each floor, providing a sense of safety. Its proximity to major tourist attractions also makes it an appealing spot for travelers.
Halima Aziz, the head of Criterion Hospitality hotels, noted: “We are elevating the concept of capsule hotels to a new level, combining an exceptional location with a focus on simplicity and thoughtful design.”
I hope that the capsule concept will gain popularity in London. The city needs affordable hotels, and the price of £30 is truly unbeatable.
