A traveler has discovered a nearly exact replica of the city in the USA, costing 170 million dollars The traveler found an unknown city that costs 170 million dollars and is practically a reproduction of the American town. The resort town, located two hours from Beijing, is filled with kitsch of American culture, from cowboy decor to fast food. In the current viral video, YouTuber Drew Binsky examines a multi-apartment alley that is almost entirely based on Jackson Hole (Wyoming). Initially, he was left impressed by the lack of pedestrians, as he noticed that many businesses and restaurants were closed, even though the windows grandly proclaimed open hours. After speaking with locals, he learned that many residents work in the city during the week, and on weekends they rest in their properties. Although Binsky arrived during non-working hours, he still managed to enjoy American dishes such as heavily grilled steak with corn, pepper sauce on a steak skillet, and french fries. Binsky recorded stunning architecture that replicates western ranches. There are even American churches and Tesla charging stations scattered throughout the community. The streets run with themes of the Wild West through fake log cabins, artificial saloons, and wagon wheels. Binsky interviewed a resident who says that houses are resold for over a million dollars, as the properties are already sold out. For many residents of Jackson Hole, China, it is less about mimicking the American West in detail and more about escape, said a resident. Binsky's video also notes that not everyone can afford to travel abroad, and this is a way to experience it. Creating a cowboy town During the development of the apartment complex, planners knew they wanted to base it on an idyllic American town. They considered Marfa, Massachusetts, an island where elite families, such as the Obamas, have their homes, as well as the ski resort town of Vail in Colorado. However, the developers ultimately chose Jackson Hole - a recently blossoming valley town located at the foot of the majestic Teton Mountains. In this strange Chinese city, visitors are greeted by strange cowboy images and aesthetics that underscore the American dream of small town life. This town also replicates places like the 'Million Dollar' cowboy bar in Jackson Hole, a western stage for cowboy tricks, and even a small area for gold panning for kids. But one of the most important features of the community cannot be seen by visitors. According to builders, they wanted to create a sense of faith among every resident who purchases property. The developer of Jackson Hole, China, Liu Xiangyang, said he wanted to provide buyers with 'freedom and spirituality' when they become part of the community, reported Cowboy State Daily. He said they hope to achieve this, in part, by building a small temple that would reflect the atmosphere of 'middle America'. Breakdown of real estate In 2014, about 1,000-1,500 homes were built at initial prices ranging from about 180,000 to 330,000 dollars, according to The Atlantic. Since then, this price has tripled, making it a haven for wealthy buyers looking for an escape from bustling Beijing. Today, the suburb has about 3,000 homes and is practically sold out. Cui Zhongtao, who bought his weekend home for about 145,000 dollars, described the place as a sanctuary. 'Reality prevents me from living in America [...] but when I saw the lifestyle there, I wished that one day I could live like that,' he told CBS News. Jackson Hole is not the only replica city in China. The country has stunning versions of Paris, Venice, and a small English town. A traveler discovered a unique city in China that recreates the American lifestyle for 170 million dollars. The architecture, cultural traditions, and entertainment of this community create the atmosphere of an American city in the midst of China, putting this city in the spotlight.
