I visited the UK beach that’s been named one of Europe’s underrated gems – you’ll never see anyone there.
The Pearl of the Coast: Skrinkle Haven Recognized as One of Europe’s Underrated Beaches
According to The Sun: Finding beautiful beaches without crowds, especially in summer, is not that easy. But Skrinkle Haven beach in Pembrokeshire has become a true treasure precisely because of its seclusion - during our visit with family, we were the only visitors.
AlamyAccording to TimeOut, Skrinkle Haven beach ranks second among the least visited beaches in Europe for those wanting to avoid the crowds. The publication described it as 'half a beach, half a cove, but completely amazing', and that perfectly matches what I felt while visiting with my three sons.
On a cloudy July day, we set off to explore the wild Welsh coastline and stumbled upon a secret cove, which is accessible only for a few hours a day. To reach it, you have to go down a steep staircase to Church Cove.
These stairs are easy to spot, but the tunnel through the rock to Skrinkle Haven beach is less obvious – hence why it’s always so quiet here. There used to be stairs leading directly to the beach, but they became unsafe, so the tunnel remained the only option.
After passing through the stone tunnel with our picnic basket and bucket, we arrived at the beach. There were two options: either jump into the shallow rock pool or leap over the stone outcrop.
It should be noted that you need to be quite nimble to get through the tunnel, but we managed it even with our four-year-old.

After the tunnel, we were greeted by the beach, where 'Haven' truly proved to be a fitting name for this place with its sheltered sides and inviting golden sands. The best part was that we were alone there.
It felt like we were thousands of miles away from civilization when we changed for swimming. This place is amazing for exploring - on the beach, we found high rocky formations, where one can easily imagine smugglers hiding their cargo.
But you need to be careful, as if you miss the tide, you could find yourself on the beach for a full eight hours before the water recedes again. When we arrived, the tide had just begun, but we still had an hour for adventures before risking getting stuck.
After an hour of fun, the boys were wet, sandy, and happy. When we climbed back up, I was struck by the reality - this deserted beach is just a few miles from the tourist path near Tenby. Time and tides wait for no one, and Skrinkle Haven is a testament to that.

This place is suitable for family vacations and will serve as a wonderful option for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world. At the same time, it is important to remember about safety when visiting such beautiful yet isolated locations.
