According to The Sun: There is one thing in life that is guaranteed - it is death. However, for one man, it turned out that it was as if it would never happen, as he ended up in a coma for 10 months.

27-year-old Jake Haendel experienced chronic pain and constant boredom, he prayed for his life to end, and then, when he heard medical staff planning to disconnect him from the ventilator.

In his testimony on the podcast We’re All Insane, Jake explained that he is the only survivor of an extremely rare brain disease called ATPPL. He also noted that he is one of the few who recovered from the knitted syndrome, which is often mistaken for a coma.

In 2017, Jake was a newly married man and worked as a head executive chef. One day he felt somewhat strange, struggling with his balance and involuntarily making turns while driving.

After two weeks of such symptoms, Jake decided to go to the hospital. 'My now ex-wife played a voice message for the medical staff that I left for her,' Haendel explained. 'They heard a completely different voice, so I was hospitalized with brain injury symptoms and underwent an emergency MRI,' he added.
