Unforgettable experiences in a theme park in Europe

According to The Sun: Screams of adrenaline on the rides, captivating shows, and immersion in the atmosphere of beloved films — visiting a theme park always brings bright emotions.

Many believe that the best theme parks are located in Orlando. However, I found a budget alternative in Europe — a true gem for thrill-seekers where ticket prices will truly delight.

Trip to Movieland

I love spending time in theme parks. Usually, I planned trips to Orlando to visit Universal's Orlando Resort in Florida, which became our favorite place along with my husband Matt — we have been there over 30 times.

However, this summer we decided to fly less than three hours to Canevaworld's Movieland — a true secret of Europe among theme parks.

The park is large, with attractions for the whole family, and located on the picturesque Lake Garda. A ticket here costs only £31, unlike Universal Orlando Resort, where prices exceed £100.

When we arrived, Matt and I exchanged glances and couldn't contain our smiles. This is not only a movie-based theme park like Universal Studios in Florida, but it also had a façade reminiscent of it.

Striking comparison with Universal Studios

Inside the park was a standard entertainment zone divided into different themed areas. However, there were many similarities between the Florida and European parks.

“We're back: Children of the Future” – a simulator where you need to save Doc Brown's descendants by “bringing them back to the future.”

This attraction turned out to be almost identical to the ride “Back to the Future,” which used to operate at Universal before it was replaced by a Simpsons-based attraction.

The Jurassic ride offers a trip in an off-road vehicle through areas devastated by dinosaurs — reminiscent of the lands of Jurassic Park at Universal Orlando.

Unforgettable moments and surprises

Even though Movieland is a budget version of Universal Studios, we had an amazing day.

‘Everyone enjoyed the outing’

Movieland offers meetings with characters that you won’t see in other parks. Here you can meet Batman and Scrooge McDuck — characters from completely different universes.

Local residents seem to ignore this. Everyone who was in the park truly enjoyed themselves.

We expected to wait in lines for the attractions, but overall the experience was very positive. Although most attractions are budget versions, this does not prevent them from being entertaining.

Movieland offers not only rides but also various shows. Among them are the Overdrive car show and the spectacular US Army Stunt Show.

‘Great value for money’

Overall, we consider Movieland an excellent option for the price: Italian ice cream costs only £2, and hot dogs are about £5. For £31 for adults and £24 for children, you get significant entertainment value set against the backdrop of incredible Italian nature.

Movieland is easy to visit! Free buses run from the Peschiera station, and the train ticket cost us only £8. Could Movieland be a real alternative to the iconic parks in Orlando? Probably not. But if you're looking for affordable entertainment in one of the most beautiful places in Europe, visiting this park is definitely worth your time!
