The London District Entered the Top 5 Coolest in the World: What You Should Know About It.

According to The Sun: It is quite interesting to find out that your home district has made it to the top five coolest places in the world.

A place where you usually go for a beer or enjoy a tasty lunch on Fridays suddenly becomes world-renowned.

Today, the previously unnoticed district of Camberwell was recognized as one of the coolest in the world according to Time Out.

It took fourth place, surpassed only by Jimbocho in Tokyo, Borgerhout in Antwerp, and Barra Funda in São Paulo, with Avondale in Chicago rounding out the top five.

In compiling the annual ranking, districts are assessed based on criteria such as culture, community, quality of life, nightlife, food and drink, street life, and 'modernity'. Camberwell received praise for its 'youthful atmosphere' and 'independent spirit'.

Just a few years ago, about six, this area particularly did not attract attention. There were a few decent pubs and restaurants, but nothing that could make it onto global maps.

However, in recent years, more and more businesses have emerged, turning Camberwell into one of the best neighborhoods in London for nightlife, especially if you don't want to spend all your savings.

The Camberwell Arms

The Camberwell Arms has been making it to the lists of the best lunch spots in London for years – and there are reasons for that. I also love this place for lavish dinner evenings.

The interior of the old pub with bleached wood gives simplicity, but the food here is of a very high standard.

Among the dishes, you will find beef tartare with toast, hake with pickled mollusks, and corn with peppers and chili.

Silk Road

This delicious Chinese eatery has gained cult popularity due to its Xinjiang cuisine at very reasonable prices.

Favorites include shrimp dumplings, homemade cabbage, and hand-made noodles.

FM Mangal

I once lived near Green Lanes in North London, where I can confidently say that most of the wonderful Turkish restaurants in the capital are located.

Nevertheless, FM Mangal adequately represents fantastic Turkish cuisine south of the river.

Hot and cold meze here is excellent, and my partner believes that the lamb skewers are among the best.

Cafe Mondo

Cafe Mondo is a new type of sandwich shop specializing in large sandwiches with multiple ingredients that are cut in half so you can admire their contents before eating.

The fish stick sandwich is excellent, as is the hummus with roasted eggplant, which contains roasted eggplant, hummus, chopped salad, tahini, and potato sticks.

Crooked Well

The Crooked Well is a beautiful gastropub with a rotation of chefs, also a cozy space for tables outside on a sunny day.

They are currently hosting Carter’s – an establishment focusing on modern British cuisine that emphasizes local ingredients.

Ruskin Park

After you have eaten too much, you can take a walk in the nearby Ruskin Park.

This large Edwardian park has an incredible view of the London skyline. There is also a large children's pool, a new playground, sports courts, a cozy community garden, and a wooden stage where musical events are regularly held.
