Pension Indexation in 2025: Which Ukrainians Have Already Started Receiving Increased Payments.
Ukrainian pensioners will receive indexed pension payments starting March 4, 2025.
The overall increase is 11.5%, which on average raises the pension amount by 556 hryvnias, reports the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
According to information from the Ministry of Social Policy, the average pension in Ukraine will rise from 5789 to 6345 hryvnias. In total, the increase will affect more than 10 million citizens.
The indexation covers several categories of pensioners:
- 9.2 million people whose pensions are assigned on general grounds
- 672 thousand pensioners from law enforcement agencies
- 98 thousand people receiving a pension due to disability and loss of a breadwinner as a result of the Chornobyl disaster
- 79.6 thousand pensioners with war-related disabilities and combatants receiving minimum pension payments
- 23.4 thousand former employees of local self-government bodies and state officials
The ministry also reminds that the indexation will affect monthly insurance payments for 158 thousand victims of industrial accidents and occupational diseases, as well as for individuals entitled to insurance payments in the event of the victim's death.
In addition, on April 1, 2025, there will be an automatic recalculation of pensions for 629 thousand working pensioners taking into account their updated insurance record.
