Earthquake in Japan
No less than 33 people were injured as a result of a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 that occurred off the coast of Japan. Hundreds of people were left without electricity in winter conditions. After the tremors, tsunami waves, reaching up to 70 cm in height, struck the northeastern coastline in coastal cities.According to The Sun: Thousands of people were forced to evacuate due to issued safety warnings for the population.
“It was terrifying, the ground shook, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to escape,” says one eyewitness.
Emergency services are currently working to manage the situation and provide assistance to those affected.
It should be noted that Japan frequently faces earthquakes, and the country has developed response systems for such emergencies. However, such large-scale events always pose significant risks to the population and infrastructure.Read also
