Foreign volunteers have begun to join the Defense Forces more actively due to Trump's statements.
American veterans and volunteers are joining the Ukrainian army more actively after Trump changed his policy towards Ukraine and the scandal with Zelensky.
The number of applications from foreign legionnaires wanting to join the Ukrainian army has increased after the conflict between Trump and Zelensky.
A participant in one of the strongest units of the Ukrainian army-volunteers confirmed that after this scandal, the number of applications increased by several thousand.
This happened not only due to dissatisfaction with US policy but also because of the need for people and weapons to resist Russian occupiers.
Several Americans explained why they decided to fight for Ukraine:
- 25-year-old William, a US veteran, has wanted this since the time of the Revolution of Dignity in 2013-2014;
- Afghanistan veteran Ron noted that he is a patriot and loves his country, but the current leadership is destroying it;
- Jaggernaut, a former US intelligence officer who supported Trump in the elections, noted that he lost US support for Ukraine;
- 40-year-old Esquire, a father and lawyer, decided to join the army of Ukraine to avoid feeling like a coward.
According to ABC News journalists, during their time in Ukraine, they saw fast cars returning from the front lines with wounded soldiers.
The journalists asked the soldiers if they believed Putin's statements about peace. One of the soldiers mentioned that he lost three of his comrades due to an enemy drone attack.
The brigade commander responded that if they lose support, they will fight with their bare hands.
A renowned lieutenant colonel stated that he is against a ceasefire as Ukraine can win the war by changing its structure and starting to attack normally.
