Ukraine, France, and Britain signed a declaration on the deployment of Western troops.
According to ТСН: After the meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' of Ukraine, France, and Great Britain, a declaration on the deployment of Western contingents on the territory of Ukraine was officially signed. This document provides for the creation of multinational forces that will ensure security. In particular, during the meeting, a decision was made regarding the strength of the Ukrainian army after the war – it should be up to 800,000 personnel.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron during communication with media representatives.
Macron emphasized that allies were able to consolidate their approaches that had been formed over the past months. The plan is based on three main directions: monitoring the ceasefire, comprehensive support for the Ukrainian army, and preparation for the introduction of foreign military units.
Coordination and multinational forces
To implement these agreements, a special coordination center will be established under the operational headquarters of the coalition. Its goal is to ensure close cooperation between the armies of the participating countries and Ukraine. The president emphasized that the coalition has already done a significant amount of work to prepare for the deployment of troops.
'We continue our preparation for organizing multinational forces for deployment in the air, at sea, and on land to guarantee security after the ceasefire. There has been significant work done at the level of our commanders,' emphasized the French president.
Macron also noted that Italy, Poland, and Turkey play an important role in this format.
'The Armed Forces of Ukraine will remain at the forefront of defense to deter aggression. Turkey is ready to take responsibility for maritime issues,' noted Macron.
Monitoring and defense capability
Attention was also focused on the mechanism for cessation of hostilities. The United States, with the involvement of other coalition countries, will monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime. Partners also plan to provide logistics and military support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will remain the main force for deterring aggression.
'The format – 800,000 personnel in the Ukrainian army, and it will need to be materially and militarily supported to deter potential aggression,' noted Macron.
According to the French president, this approach will allow the formation of a reliable security mechanism, in which European forces and support from the U.S. in logistics and intelligence will ensure resilience in the region.
It was also discussed at the meeting that a plan for Ukraine's prosperity will be an important element in ensuring its security. This plan will be finalized soon.
Let us recall that the presidents of Ukraine and France, as well as the Prime Minister of Great Britain, signed a declaration of intent regarding the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the end of the war.
It should be noted that a new meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' recently took place in Paris, where the terms of a new security architecture for Ukraine were discussed. A draft communiqué of this meeting has also appeared online.
The signing of this declaration is an important step in the formation of a new security architecture in Ukraine, which aims to ensure stability in the region in the post-war period. The involvement of multinational military forces is expected to contribute not only to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities but also to increasing the level of international support in countering aggression.
