Weapons Equipment Detained at the Border with Moldova: What is Known About the Case.
Residents of Odesa region discovered special equipment for servicing firearms, which they attempted to illegally export to Moldova. During a customs inspection, border guards uncovered the attempt to hide the prohibited equipment.
According to the Customs of the Republic of Moldova, customs officers stopped a Hyundai H-1 vehicle coming from Ukraine and found special equipment in plastic boxes. The goods were detained for confiscation, and the case was transferred for review under current legislation.
Border Check
The driver and passengers claimed they were not transporting goods that required customs clearance. However, border guards conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle and discovered weapons equipment.
According to Moldovan legislation, all found items will be confiscated, and the transporters face deportation and a ban on entry into the country for five years.
What Punishment Awaits
This is not the first case of attempts to illegally export various items abroad. Earlier, there was a case involving an Odesa resident's attempt to flee to Moldova and export antique valuables.
