Interview of Zelensky for Bild: Key Points.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky openly expressed his vision of the situation regarding Russian attacks and Kremlin tactics during an interview with Bild in Odesa. According to Zelensky, Russia has no intention of negotiating peace and uses negotiations merely as a shield against international sanctions.
'We are talking to each other! If sanctions are imposed, there will be no more negotiations', comments Zelensky. 'Putin does not want peace.'
Zelensky emphasized that the Kremlin aims to isolate the United States and Europe from the negotiation process in order to isolate Ukraine and dictate terms from a position of strength.
'A prolonged war without support from partners would be the ideal option for Putin', he added. 'He cannot endure a prolonged war with partners and sanctions.'
Trump's Perception and the Urgency of Actions from Him
Zelensky stresses that even when Trump expresses a positive attitude towards Putin, he understands the true essence of the Kremlin. 'President Trump sees that the Russian side is not open and honest about the war', he emphasizes. 'I think Russia is just lying to Trump.'
He also noted that he calmly accepts criticism directed at him from Trump, as long as it contributes to achieving a common goal. 'President Trump has chosen his tactics. I do not want to condemn anyone', adds Zelensky.
Support from America and the Urgency of Actions
Zelensky calls on the Trump administration to act more decisively, believing that only a show of strength from the United States can compel Putin to take peaceful actions. 'In my opinion, Putin only understands strength. And America has that strength', he assures.
The president emphasizes the importance of support from allies and determination in pressing the Kremlin to resolve the conflict. At the same time, he underscores that the Ukrainian authorities value every human life, unlike Russian actions.
The user points out that Volodymyr Zelensky indicates the insufficient openness and honesty of Russia regarding the war and calls for decisive actions from the U.S. to end the conflict and pressure the Kremlin.Read also
