Critical Situation in Iran
Iran is experiencing one of the harshest droughts in its history, and officials warn that Tehran may need evacuation if it does not rain soon. President Masoud Pezeshkian noted that the capital's reservoirs have only nine days of drinking water supplies, describing the situation as a 'serious and unprecedented crisis.' He warned parliament on Tuesday:“If there is no rain, we may face an emergency.”The water supply issue has become a huge challenge for a country where agriculture and domestic needs depend on the availability of water. The water shortage in Iran could have serious consequences for food security and public health. In such a crisis, urgent measures are needed to prevent a humanitarian disaster. The sooner the water supply issue is resolved, the less risk there will be to people's lives and stability in the region.
