Iran launched over 100 drones at Israel in response to a massive attack.
Iran responded to Israel's attack by launching 100 Shahed kamikaze drones. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Effi Defrin. According to him, Iran fired more than a hundred drones following the attack on its nuclear and military facilities. The IDF usually attempts to intercept Iranian drones, but this process may take several hours.
The cities of Tehran and other cities in Iran, including Natanz, Khorramabad, and Hamadan, were under fire. One of Iran's key nuclear facilities was also attacked.
Iranian media and eyewitnesses reported explosions at the country's main uranium enrichment facility in Natanz.
Global Reaction to the Conflict
Earlier, Reuters reported that Iran intends to 'respond harshly' to the Israeli airstrikes. For its part, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the U.S. did not partake in these strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities.
'Tonight, Israel took unilateral actions against Iran. We did not participate in these strikes, and our main mission is to protect American forces in the region,' Rubio stated.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that responding to this aggression is Iran's legitimate right under the UN Charter.
