Iryna Farion – the title of 'Hero of Ukraine': the petition has collected the required votes.

Ukraine has completed the collection of signatures for the petition to the Cabinet of Ministers to award Iryna Farion the title of "Hero of Ukraine". The petition was signed by 25 thousand Ukrainians.

The petition states that Iryna Farion made a significant contribution to the preservation of Ukrainian statehood and the fight against Russia's cultural and informational expansion. She also left a significant legacy, including organizing a political poster and drawing competition, a Ukrainian book promotion project, and creating television projects. Her work covers both scientific achievements and political activities, including bills to protect the Ukrainian language.

Collection of signatures in support of the petition began on July 24, 2024.

Earlier, deputies of the Lviv City Council supported the appeal to rename one of the streets in honor of Iryna Farion.

Iryna Farion died in hospital after an assassination attempt on July 19.
