Israel prepared a secret operation to blow up pagers in Lebanon for 15 years.
Israel carried out an operation to blow up pagers in Lebanon for 15 years through front companies. Some employees of these companies were unaware of the true purpose of their work. This was reported by ABC News, citing sources.
One such company, BAC Consulting, was registered in Budapest. It pretended to be a pager manufacturer under the brand of Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, but in fact, the devices were not manufactured in Hungary.
According to The New York Times, explosives and a remote switch were embedded in the pagers. According to ABC sources, the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States considers such operations too dangerous for civilians and therefore refuses to use such tactics.
Recall, the IDF revealed details of strikes on Hezbollah (video).
