Caritas Ukraine to Provide $250 and $200 Aid Payments Starting March 2026.
Financial Assistance from Caritas Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting in March 2026, Ukrainian families may qualify for financial aid from the charitable organization Caritas Ukraine to cover essential living costs and medical treatment. This initiative is designed to assist the most vulnerable populations residing within 50 kilometers of the front line, an area of heightened risk. The ongoing conflict has placed immense strain on household finances, making such targeted support critical.
To be eligible, a household's income per member must not exceed 6,318 Ukrainian hryvnias. The aid package consists of two distinct payments:
- $250 (approximately 10,800 UAH) for general cash assistance;
- $200 (approximately 9,000 UAH) specifically for medical treatment.
Vulnerability criteria for applicants include:
- Individuals with first or second category disabilities;
- Single persons aged 55 and above;
- Single parents or guardians;
- Pregnant women;
- Mothers with children under three years old;
- Individuals with severe illnesses.
Eligible citizens can apply for payments by calling 050 399 10 62 or 095 690 68 62. A separate phone number, 050 399 10 66, has been established for processing the $250 general assistance payment.
In a related effort, the Caritas Kryvyi Rih charity is running a support program for internally displaced persons in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which includes payments for six months of housing rental.
This Caritas Ukraine initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families facing difficult circumstances and to provide them with necessary support during this challenging period.
The financial support program from Caritas Ukraine represents a significant step in aiding those with the greatest need, particularly as many Ukrainian families continue to face economic hardship due to the war. By addressing the critical needs of vulnerable groups, this effort contributes to social protection and improves quality of life amidst instability.
The involvement of civil society organizations in tackling social problems also underscores the importance of partnership between the state and charitable structures to achieve sustainable societal development.
