What is known about the severe weather in the Krasnodar region

Due to the worsening weather conditions, evacuation of children from camps has begun, reported the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev.

In Lermontovo, heavy rains caused a sharp rise in water levels in mountain rivers. A bridge was destroyed due to mudslides, cutting off hundreds of people from transport links.

In the area of the Defany River, at least three settlements have been flooded. The evacuation of tourists was carried out using boats.

Also, amid the severe weather in the Tuapsinsky district, an accident occurred — a bus overturned with 25 passengers on board. All were evacuated safely.

Local meteorologists warn of further worsening weather conditions: the region is forecasted to experience heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds with gusts of up to 25 m/s. There remains a threat of new tornado formations in coastal areas.

It is worth noting that for the first time in 600 years, the eruption of the Krasheninnikov volcano occurred in Kamchatka. It is linked to a powerful earthquake that recently took place in the Far East of Russia.

Prior to this, the base of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation in the water area of the Krasheninnikov Bay near the village of Ryabache in Kamchatka suffered significant destruction. This occurred as a result of a tsunami that followed an earthquake in the region.

Severe weather has hit the Krasnodar region of Russia, causing floods, tornadoes, inundation, and accidents. Local authorities are involved in eliminating the consequences of the disaster and evacuating the population from dangerous areas.
