Kellogg is preparing options for Trump to end the war in Ukraine, - Bloomberg.
Donald Trump's special representative Keith Kellogg is preparing options to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, which he plans to present to the US president soon. This was reported by Bloomberg.
According to the publication, Kellogg is gathering feedback from officials during the Munich Security Conference, which will begin on Friday. He will also visit Kyiv and other European capitals, but he will not meet with anyone in Moscow.
According to Bloomberg sources, these options could form the basis for negotiations between the US president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Putin.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his readiness to negotiate with Putin and has threatened new sanctions if Russia does not engage in dialogue.
Kellogg is expected to discuss with European officials their willingness to create deterrent forces to ensure compliance with a peace agreement during his visits. The US is unlikely to provide its troops but may offer other forms of support.
Kellogg will also urge allies to increase defense spending, which Trump has demanded. Regarding the sanctions pressure on Russia, European officials will seek to strengthen measures against its energy sector.
It is reminded that Trump's team will visit Ukraine this week before the start of the Munich Security Conference. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also participate in this event, where ways to end Russia's war against Ukraine will be discussed.
The Munich Conference will be used to make progress towards establishing peace in Ukraine, noted MSC Chairman Christoph Heusgen.
