Kellogg: The US is organizing indirect negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Saudi Arabia.
Ukrainian and Russian delegations will meet with American representatives in Saudi Arabia on March 24. The meetings will be conducted using the 'shuttle diplomacy' method.
Kit Kellogg, the special representative of the US president for Ukraine and Russia, stated this in an interview with journalist Glenn Beck.
According to him, the negotiations will occur in parallel:
'One group will be in one room, the other group - in another room. They will talk, discuss, and move like a shuttle on the water. Then we will clarify the positions of each side.'
The American delegation will include Secretary of State Rubio and Michael Anton, the director of policy planning at the US. The Americans plan to learn the positions of Russia and Ukraine regarding a possible ceasefire within one day.
This is the first step toward ending the war, emphasized Kellogg.
The Ukrainian delegation will be represented by Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavlo Palisa.
Previously, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the meetings of the Ukrainian and American technical teams will take place in Saudi Arabia on March 24. He also noted that on the same day, the Americans will hold a meeting with the Russian delegation.
US State Department spokeswoman Tami Bruce stated that the meeting with Russia will not occur at the level of 'top leadership.'
