Starting June 5, restrictions will be imposed on heavy-duty vehicles in Kyiv due to the expected rise in air temperature. These measures are necessary to maintain the quality of the roads in the capital.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, in the coming days, the temperature in Kyiv will exceed +28 °C. The restrictions will apply to heavy trucks weighing over 24 tons and loading more than 7 tons per axle.
The city's patrol police will monitor compliance with these restrictions. They were introduced according to the order of the city administration from 2012.
Summary
Due to the anticipated rise in air temperature, Kyiv is implementing temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy-duty vehicles to preserve road conditions. This measure will help avoid damage to the asphalt surface under heavy loads. The patrol police of the city will ensure compliance with the restrictions.
