Kyiv Court of Appeal Considers Artem Kosov's Case
According to Novyny.live: The Kyiv Court of Appeal heard the case of Artem Kosov on March 11, 2024. Kosov had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of teenager Maksym Materukhin and subsequently filed an appeal against the verdict, which was originally delivered by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv in September 2025.

The crime occurred on April 7, 2024, inside Kyiv's funicular railway. During the incident, Kosov pushed the 16-year-old Materukhin against a window, resulting in a fatal cut to the teenager's neck. According to the investigation, Artem Kosov was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the crime.
During the trial, Kosov stated:
"I did not see where the deceased fell because I started getting beaten, and this is confirmed by the forensic medical examination."However, the investigation's forensic examination indicates that, given his life and professional experience, he understood the victim was already dead at that moment, as noted by lawyer Ruslan Kravchenko.
The next court hearing is scheduled for March 25, 2024, where the appeal proceedings will continue.
