China imposes sanctions on US defense companies.
The Ministry of Commerce of China announced that it is prohibiting the supply of dual-use goods to 28 US defense companies. Such measures have been taken to ensure national security and interests of China. The Ministry cites the Export Control Law and regulations on the export of dual-use goods.
'In order to ensure national security and interests, the authorities took these measures based on the Export Control Law and regulations on the export of dual-use goods,' the Ministry reports.
The Ministry of Commerce of China explained that these measures were taken to control the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
Among the companies affected by the trade restrictions are General Dynamics, Boeing Defence, Space & Security, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Raytheon Missiles & Defence.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Commerce of China issued a statement indicating that dozens of foreign defense companies are included in the unreliable entities list due to arms sales to the Taiwan authorities.
