Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk, introduced a new technology called Blindsight, which can restore sight to blind people. This groundbreaking project received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Reuters reports.

In the initial stages, the technology provides low-resolution images, but in the future, it promises to surpass the quality of natural vision, allowing sight not only in the visible spectrum but also in the infrared, ultraviolet, and radar ranges.

The U.S. Department of Health recognized Blindsight as a revolutionary device that will contribute to the accelerated development and implementation of new treatment technologies for life-threatening conditions.

Elon Musk first announced this project in March 2024, reporting successful chip testing on blind monkeys.
