Contract 18-24. How to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In recent days, the 'Reserve+' application has received many applications for signing a one-year contract for volunteers who wish to serve in the army. The Ministry of Defense explained the stages of application review and preparation for service. The Director of the Human Resources Policy Department Mark Andrusyak provided a detailed description of the socio-demographic profile of recruits aged 18-24, stating that these are educated young people from regional centers who have no work experience.

Applications are submitted using digital applications, including 'Reserve+'. After processing applications at recruitment centers, citizens have the opportunity to make a final decision. However, there is a problem with incorrect applications that do not contain valid phone numbers, and therefore they are not considered. If it is possible to contact the citizen, additional explanations regarding the stages of service will be provided.

After signing the contract, the recruit undergoes basic military training lasting 45 days, specialized training, depending on the position, lasting from 14 to 30 days, and adaptation in the military unit, lasting at least 14 days. After the expiration of the one-year contract, the citizen can choose to continue service or be discharged.

It is important to note that volunteers who are 24 years old and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the invasion can receive 1 million UAH in rewards. However, a refusal to join military service may occur if the recruiter finds that the candidate does not have a clear answer regarding their desire to serve. It is also worth remembering that a criminal background may lead to refusal of acceptance into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Information about the program can be found in digital applications, military units, and on the special website of the Ministry of Defense. In the 'Reserve+' application, you can learn about the military units where candidates will serve.

Currently, there is already the first volunteer serving in the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporizhzhya Cossacks. The number of applications submitted for the '18-24' contract in the 'Reserve+' application is still unknown.
