In Russia, a 'national messenger' called MAX is being introduced. This process started in St. Petersburg, where state and municipal authorities are transitioning to the new platform at the government's direction.
One of the priorities for the spread of MAX in Russia is to abandon Western resources at the order of dictator Vladimir Putin. This has become a necessary step after the 50-day ultimatum from US President Donald Trump. The Russian authorities plan to ban the use of global messengers WhatsApp and Telegram in the country and have also blocked the popular messenger Signal.
The implementation of the 'national messenger' in Russia is a response to geopolitical pressure and an attempt to separate from Western technologies. The authorities prohibit the use of foreign platforms while supporting their own product.
