Crimea faces the strongest drought in 50 years: why the occupiers are inactive.
Currently, Crimea is experiencing the strongest drought in the last 50 years. According to meteorologists, insufficient precipitation has led to the overflow of only some reservoirs, while others are already at critically low water levels.
Drought of the century
There are only 23 reservoirs in Crimea, of which only 15 are replenished naturally. The situation is currently especially critical: for example, the Simferopol reservoir is filled to 52%, while the Chornorychenske reservoir is only at 34%. The reservoir in Partizanske is filled to only 26%, which means it cannot be used at all. The reason for this situation is the lack of precipitation.
According to meteorologists, last year only 50% of the normal amount of precipitation fell, and this year that figure is even lower - only 30%. The last similar dry period occurred 7 years ago, but back then water was supplied in Crimea according to a schedule. - emphasize journalists from 'Crimean Wind'.
Besides the reservoirs that provide water to the cities of Crimea, underground springs are also drying up. This is already leading to serious problems for the residents of the peninsula.
The strongest drought in the last half century in Crimea is caused by a lack of precipitation, which has led to critically low water levels in many reservoirs and the drying up of underground springs. The residents of the peninsula are already beginning to face serious problems due to this ecological crisis.
