In Rivne region, police saved an 85-year-old woman who lay in a snowdrift for several hours.
According to ТСН: In the Rivne region, thanks to the quick actions of a police officer, an elderly woman was rescued after spending several hours in the snow.
Police officer Yevhen Cherevko from the Dubrovytsia territorial community received a notification from a local resident who reported the disappearance of her 85-year-old godmother.
The woman was worried since the pensioner had not been in contact for a long time.
Rescue from the snowdrift
In less than an hour, law enforcement found the missing woman. They discovered the disoriented and exhausted woman in a snowdrift near her house. According to preliminary data, she had spent several hours under the snow.
Officers immediately brought the pensioner into the house, covering her with a thermal blanket, and called an emergency medical team. Doctors diagnosed frostbite on her hands, feet, and face, after which the woman was hospitalized.
Call for caution
The police urge citizens to be attentive and cautious during worsening weather conditions, especially watching over elderly people and those in need of assistance.
