Statement from Ukraine's Minister of Education and Science
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Minister of Education and Science, Oxen Lisovyi, has addressed swirling speculation about his potential resignation, firmly stating that he has not submitted any resignation letter and that no such motion has been put forward by the Prime Minister. The rumors gained traction following remarks by lawmaker Anton Yatsenko, who leveled criticism against the ministry's performance. At the heart of his complaints was the claim that the ministry has failed to implement effective policies to preserve the country's student base during wartime.
Lisovyi emphasized that he is unaware of any official documents supporting claims of his departure.
“There is no letter from me, no submission from the Prime Minister. There is a parliamentary motion filed by MP Anton Yatsenko. That is the only initiative I know of,” he stated.
What Lies Ahead
Additionally, the minister acknowledged that he is considering a return to Ukraine's Defense Forces after leaving his current post.
“That is one of the scenarios I am weighing. I even have an idea of where I would go. So, we will see how things unfold,” Lisovyi added.
Despite the swirling rumors and criticism, the minister continues to carry out his duties, concentrating on key aspects of educational policy amid the ongoing war.
The possibility of leadership changes at Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science underscores the ongoing debate over the effectiveness of educational policy during wartime. Yatsenko's criticism highlights the critical need to safeguard the student population, a factor that could shape the future of higher education in the country.
