The Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council has confirmed its plans to create a military memorial at the Lychakiv Cemetery. Work on design and preparation for construction has already begun.
«For over a year, we held meetings with the families of fallen soldiers, gathering their suggestions and thoughts, and recently presented the concept of the memorial. The revised project includes a clear organization of burials, a central alley of memory, and a place for visiting near the graves of defenders. Now we are moving on to the next stages», - reported the head of the executive committee, Yevhen Boyko.
Initial work will focus on organizing the territory of the 'Lychakiv Cemetery' museum, determining the costs and technical details of the memorial's construction. The development of a sketch project is planned, which will serve as the basis for further work, as well as the selection of materials for headstones.
