The USA has captured Venezuelan President Maduro: what is known about the special operation.
According to ТСН: U.S. President Donald Trump announced a successful special operation, during which Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured and taken out of the country.
According to CBS News reporter Jennifer Jacobs, the operation was carried out by fighters of the American elite unit 'Delta'. This unit was also responsible for the elimination of the former leader of the 'Islamic State', Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in 2019.
It is currently unknown where Nicolas Maduro is with his wife.
Currently, it is known that during the operation, the American military suffered no losses.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau stated that Nicolas Maduro 'will face justice for his crimes.'
It should be noted that initially, the U.S. did not provide official information about the military operation in Venezuela. According to media reports, all military bases in the South American country were attacked. In response, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed a decree declaring a state of emergency.
CBS News also reports that Donald Trump ordered strikes on Venezuela a few days before the operation was conducted. Initially, it was planned to implement it after Christmas, but the timeline was changed due to weather conditions.
This development significantly impacted the political situation in Venezuela, causing a new wave of tension in the country. The U.S. special operation has sparked widespread resonance both on the international stage and within the country, as this action only exacerbates the conflict against the backdrop of already existing issues in Venezuela. The situation continues to remain under the close watch of the international community.
