Delta cancels London-New York flights: what this means for Ukrainian tourists.
Delta cancels popular route from London to New York
According to The Sun: The American airline Delta has announced the closure of its route from London Gatwick to New York, which may lead to higher ticket prices for passengers.
GettyAccording to information received from Travel Gossip, bookings for this route will cease from September 7, 2025.
This route was restored in 2023 after a 15-year break, but it only operated during the summer and it apparently will not return in 2026.
Other changes in air transport
Recently, several routes from the USA have been canceled. British Airways has already confirmed the cancellation of flights from London Gatwick to New York, which will cease operations from October 25.
Thus, the only carrier continuing flights from London Gatwick to New York is Norse Atlantic. The decrease in available flights is likely to lead to rising air ticket prices.
Those planning to fly with British Airways or Delta will have to contact London Heathrow Airport.
GettyFurthermore, Norse Atlantic has had to cancel several flights in recent weeks, including the route from London Gatwick to Miami.
Fortunately, British Airways is increasing the number of flights on some routes to the USA, including a daily flight from London Heathrow to Dallas-Fort Worth and two flights a day to Miami.
The number of flights from London Heathrow to Las Vegas will also increase from 10 to 13 per week.
Earlier this year, Play Airlines canceled all its routes to the USA. The last flights will depart next month, and Ryanair is closing flights from Spain, which will affect one million passengers.
The cancellation of Delta and British Airways routes reflects overall trends in the aviation industry. A decrease in transportation licenses may lead to rising ticket prices and limited choices for travelers heading to the USA. Thus, these events could significantly impact the plans of those looking to travel between these cities in the near future.
