The Coalition of the Willing has confirmed key principles of peace for Ukraine: what this means.
On Wednesday, August 13, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a virtual meeting of the 'Coalition of the Willing' leaders, attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. The leaders emphasized that a peaceful settlement is impossible without Ukraine's participation.
This is stated in a statement from the UK government.
'Key Principles of Peaceful Conflict Resolution'
The necessity of combining active diplomacy, continued support for Kyiv, and maintaining pressure on the aggressor has been confirmed. The future diplomatic solution, according to them, must guarantee security for both Ukraine and Europe. The Coalition has agreed on four key principles of peaceful conflict resolution, including support for Ukraine and international pressure on Russia.
'The Coalition of the Willing is ready to play an active role, including through plans of those willing to deploy peacekeeping forces after the cessation of hostilities. There should be no restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine or their cooperation with third countries. Russia cannot have a veto on Ukraine's path to the EU and NATO.'.
The leaders of the 'Coalition of the Willing' support a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and have identified four key principles that, according to them, must guarantee security and stability in the region, including support for Ukraine and international pressure on Russia.
