Free Pumpkin Patches: 7 Places in Britain for the Perfect Halloween.
According to The Sun: The Halloween season has officially begun, and farms across the country are inviting people to pick pumpkins.
This tradition has become significantly more popular in the UK in recent years and is a fantastic way to prepare children for Halloween celebrations.
These pumpkin fields are open for visitors free of chargeHowever, it should be noted that some farms may charge hefty fees for participation in this activity, which can be a real blow for parents. Therefore, The Sun newspaper has prepared a list of the best free pumpkin patches where entry is free in October.
Meopham Pumpkin Patch
This farm in Kent is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until October 31st. Entry is free, and parking is also free.
The price of pumpkins is 75 pence per kilogram, no prior booking is required.
For hungry visitors, BBQ is organized on Saturdays and Sundays, and a tea room is also available.
Cobbs Farm
This farm in Essex also offers free entry for those wanting to pick pumpkins. It is open on October 11, 12, 18, 19, 24, and 31 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Prices for pumpkins range from £1 to £15, all pumpkins are grown on the farm. Homemade snacks and drinks are also offered, and dogs are not allowed.
Seven Sisters Ice Cream Patch
This farm in Cheshire has free entry, and no booking is required. It is located in a secret spot in a cornfield, open every weekend in October and on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of October.
Prices for pumpkins range from 50 pence to £15, and carving kits are also available for purchase.
Fordingbridge PYO pumpkins
This free pumpkin patch in New Forest does not require prior booking. It is open from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on October 11, 12, 18 and every day until October 31st.
There are also many crafts and games, and on November 1st, a 'Firework without Anger' event is planned for Bonfire Night.
Rougham Estate
This free farm in Suffolk is open every weekend in October and daily from October 25th to 31st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
On October 18th and 19th, you can pick pumpkins by lantern light from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and a German disco is also planned.
There are many other attractions such as face painting, games, and pedal tractors.
Lymm Pumpkin Patch
This farm in Cheshire also has free entry, no prior booking is required. It is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and you can pick pumpkins on October 4, 5, 11, 12, and daily from October 18 to 31.
There is also a small maze, food and drinks for enjoyment, and a daily treasure hunt for kids.
The Cawdor Patch
Set against the backdrop of stunning Scottish nature, this free patch offers over 20 varieties to choose from. It is open on October 4, 5, 11, 12, 16-19, and 23-26 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Additionally, late-night pumpkin picking is available from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 11 and 18, although entry is free, you must register online for a free ticket.
