Missile Attack on Belgorod Leaves Dead and Wounded
According to Espreso.tv: A large-scale missile strike has struck the city of Belgorod and the surrounding Belgorod district, resulting in casualties and damage to critical energy infrastructure. Preliminary reports indicate three people were wounded and one person was killed. The attack has caused disruptions to electricity and water supplies in parts of Belgorod and several nearby municipalities.
Target and Aftermath
The strike targeted the Belgorod Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines. According to Alexander Shuvayev:
“A fire broke out at one facility in Belgorod, and firefighters are working to extinguish it.”
He also stated:
“Energy infrastructure has been damaged again, leading to power and water supply interruptions in some areas of Belgorod and several municipalities.”
For context, this attack comes amid ongoing hostilities in the region. On the night of July 6, Russia also struck Kyiv, killing 16 people as of 9:30 PM. The situation in Belgorod remains critical due to the aftermath of the missile strike.
This assault underscores the continuation of the armed conflict in the area, with severe consequences for civilians and infrastructure. The resulting power and water outages could create significant hardships for residents, especially given the unstable environment. Meanwhile, events in Belgorod may influence the broader trajectory of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has already led to numerous casualties and widespread destruction.
