According to Novyny.live: Russian forces continue their assaults on the Odesa region, deploying Kalibr cruise missiles and drones. During the night of July 6, the Russian military launched Kalibr missiles. However, all of these missiles were intercepted and destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems in the Vinnytsia region. According to Air Force Command spokesperson Yurii Ihnat,

“Kalibr missiles were heading toward the south, and we intercepted them. Every single one is accounted for in today’s interception statistics.”

Odesa Endures Ongoing Strikes

The overnight drone attack on Odesa caused damage to multi-story and private homes, a dormitory, garages, a parking lot, and several vehicles. One casualty has been reported: a 23-year-old man. As of this morning, city authorities have already received 26 applications for compensation related to damaged property.

Odesa is frequently targeted. Yurii Ihnat noted that

“Odesa is under constant attack. Bessarabia as well. The Zatoka bridge remains a point of interest for the enemy. They also frequently strike port infrastructure between the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.”

Strengthening Regional Defenses

Interceptor drones are being deployed to secure the region, proving highly effective at neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). “Interceptor drones are operating in this area and achieving good results in taking down UAVs,” added Yurii Ihnat.

Recent Night Assaults

Earlier, on June 21, Russian troops attacked the Izmail district using Shahed strike drones. The following day, June 20, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district in southern Odesa region came under fire. These attacks underscore the ongoing aggressive campaign by Russian forces against Ukraine, particularly in the Odesa region.

The situation in Odesa region remains tense as Russian military assaults persist. The use of drones and Kalibr missiles signals an escalation in hostile actions, posing serious risks to civilians and infrastructure.
