Mass poisoning at a children's camp in Lviv region: the facility has ceased operations
A children's camp in the Lviv region, where a mass poisoning of children occurred, has officially stopped operations. The management of the facility remains in contact with the families of the affected schoolchildren. This was reported on the camp's Instagram page on Sunday, August 10.The camp team officially commented on the unpleasant incident that occurred during one of the shifts.'The camp team sincerely regrets that we were unable to make the vacation as we had planned together. We have always strived to ensure safe, comfortable, and joyful conditions for the children; however, unfortunately, the circumstances that arose during the period of August 3-12 spoiled the vacation on the second day of their stay.'The company also emphasized that during the vacation, the staff tried to adhere to all sanitary norms and provided medical assistance to the children.'We want to clearly state: the administration never prohibited calling for an ambulance. First of all, we contacted our doctor to determine the necessity of calling, and at that moment the medical staff reported that there was no urgent need. Before and during the arrivals, we conducted quartz treatment with bactericidal lamps, washed the handles of every door and window, and organized the food distribution so that children did not touch the products and dishes.'Currently, the management of the company is in contact with the families of the children who suffered from the poisoning. The company has promised to compensate them for medical treatment costs and also to refund the trip expenses. However, due to the situation, the management of the camp made the decision to officially cease operations.'Given the situation, a difficult but necessary decision was made — to stop the camp's operations in order to thoroughly analyze every stage of our activities.'34 children who were resting at the summer camp in the Lviv region were hospitalized due to symptoms of acute intestinal disorder — nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. According to the results of laboratory tests, norovirus was confirmed in the first patients, which spreads through water, food, or household contacts and causes digestive disorders and fever.Let us remind you that the police and relevant authorities are currently investigating the mass poisoning of children at the camp. In addition, specialists found a number of serious violations in one of the restaurants in Lviv after the mass poisoning of guests.
