Large-scale missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation: The Air Forces reported on the downed targets.


On the night of December 19 to 20, 2024, the enemy attacked Ukraine. A missile 'Iskander-M' was launched from the Rostov region, an air-launched missile Kh-59/69 - from the airspace of Kursk, and Shahed-type drones were used from various regions of Russia. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian army was defending against this attack, involving aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and other military forces.
Currently, the destruction of 40 Shahed-type drones and other types in various regions of Ukraine has been confirmed.
Additionally, thanks to defensive measures, 20 imitation drones were destroyed locally, which did not lead to negative consequences.
As a result of the attack, houses, medical facilities, warehouses, and farms were damaged in several regions of Ukraine.
At 7:00 AM on December 20, 2024, the enemy struck the capital of Ukraine with five ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M'/KN-23. The launches were carried out from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions of Russia.
Our air defense destroyed all five missiles aimed at Kyiv.
Unfortunately, as a result of this attack, there are material damages and injuries. The missile debris caused destruction in five districts of the capital.
The Air Forces urge citizens to respond immediately to alerts about the threat of ballistic weapons usage and to follow the recommendations of emergency services.
This morning, around 7:00 AM, the capital of Ukraine experienced a missile strike. The missiles were launched from Russia and caused debris to fall in three districts of Kyiv.
