Attack on Marhanets

According to UATV: On July 17, Russian forces targeted the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region using an FPV drone. The attack killed a 48-year-old man instantly and left eight other people injured. Across the Dnipropetrovsk region that day, a total of ten civilians were harmed by shelling.

The strike hit a bus operated by an agricultural company that was carrying employees home after their shift. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, stated:

“In the evening, the Russians struck the agricultural firm’s bus with an FPV drone. The workers were just returning home from their jobs. As a result of the Russian attack, a 48-year-old man died at the scene. Two women and six men were injured. All of them have been hospitalized.”

Broader Situation in the Dnipropetrovsk Region

On the same day, Russian forces attacked four districts within the Dnipropetrovsk region, launching nearly 40 strikes. This escalation highlights the ongoing conflict’s severe toll on civilians in the area.

The Marhanets attack and the widespread shelling across the region underscore a troubling rise in violence. The use of FPV drones to hit civilian targets raises serious concerns about local safety and reflects the worsening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. These events are part of the broader war in Ukraine, which continues to devastate communities and disrupt daily life in affected areas.
